WHY IS IT DANGEROUS TO SHARE PERSONAL INFORMATION ON SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES?

Someone’s life is a private affair. No one except yourself has the rights to know what you are doing or not. But nowadays, we see popular websites like Facebook, LinkedIn, or twitter in which millions of people are posting bad images of themselves, and ridiculous stories about their life. The use of a social network is a powerful channel whereby people can communicate to one another. As an example, when a person is looking for a job through various organisations both international and national, the words and images on his profile may be viewed by future employers. Do not think your page will have relative privacy.
From this issue, it shows that criminals can also use information provided about a person’s birthday, location, routine, hobbies, and interests to convince the unsuspecting that they have the authority to access personal data. They can even use such information to guess your account password. This explains why you should never have a password that uses the name of your pet, favourite band, hobby, birthday, or something else easily known about you. Remember that the more information malicious people have about you, the easier it is for them to take advantage of you. Other people use it to injure public figures and put their career down.
It is not important for the public to know about your life, and then it will spoil your reputation. People must use their online profile as free place to promote themselves professionally and academically. If you keep that approach in mind, you will not post anything you would regret later, and you will enjoy the benefits of staying connected with friends, colleagues, parents and other employees, while protecting yourself and even bolstering your resume.
